LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 4, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this advisory is an update for high water and slides in the district. The following is the most accurate information available for the time this advisory was sent.
The burn ban in Garrard County has officially been lifted, according to an announcement from Judge-Executive Chris “Roo” Elleman. While residents are now permitted to resume outdoor burning, officials have implemented safety measures to reduce fire risks.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 26, 2025) – Today, health officials with the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) and Franklin County Health Department announced a confirmed case of measles identified in an adult Kentucky resident. The resident had recently traveled internationally to an area with ongoing measles transmission.
Residents are being urged to exercise caution on local roadways as freezing conditions have created hazardous driving situations. Judge Executive Chris “Roo” Elleman announced that road crews are actively scraping county roads in an effort to improve safety, but slick surfaces remain a concern.
