Advertising Policy

The Garrard Central Record reserves the right to accept or reject any and all advertisements. It is the responsibility of all advertisers to proof and sign off on all their advertisements before publication. Once the advertisement has been published, it is the responsibility of the advertiser to make sure the advertisement is correct. The Garrard Central Record will accept responsibility for errors found after proofing and adjustments will be made. However errors in ads scheduled for more than one week must be rectified before the next run or the advertiser will be held responsible for payment of each additional run.

New advertisers must pay in advance until the account is established.
All political advertisements must be paid in advance.
Advertising rates provided on request.
Deadline for all advertising, (including classified) is no later than 4 p.m. Monday, week of publication.

Obituary Notice Policy

All obituary information will be published once at a cost of $50 (charged through the funeral home) with the information provided from the funeral home. If there is an error in the obituary and it is determined The Garrard Central Record made the mistake, the obituary will be published again free of charge. If it is determined the mistake is from the information provided by the funeral home, there will be a charge for the obituary to be published again.

Letter To The Editor Policy

The Garrard Central Record welcomes Letters to the Editor on subjects of general interest. Letters should be no more than 500 words. Exceptions will be made at the discretion of the editor. All letters are subject to be edited. Letters should deal with issues. They must not personally attack individuals. Fair and polite criticism of public officials and public figures is allowed. The deadline for letters to the editor is noon Tuesday, the week they are to be published. Letters must be written to the editor, not directed to a third person.

The Garrard Central Record will not publish anonymous letters. All letters must be signed. Telephone numbers and home address must be included for verification, but will not be published.
