Garrard Fiscal Court to Meet June 29

The Garrard County Fiscal Court will hold its next regular meeting on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Garrard County Courthouse, located at 15 Public Square in Lancaster. The meeting will cover a variety of county business, including financial approvals, fire department budgets, administrative updates, and an executive session.

The agenda begins with an opportunity for public comments, followed by old business and consideration of plats. Magistrates are also scheduled to approve previous court minutes, authorize transfers, approve bills for payment, and review the county’s financial statement for the previous month.

Commissioners will hear a sign presentation from Lonnie Napier before moving into department updates from county offices.

Several agenda items focus on the county’s volunteer fire departments as officials prepare for the upcoming fiscal year. The court is scheduled to consider the 2026–2027 budgets for the Camp Dick Fire Department, Buckeye Fire Department, and Paint Lick/Cartersville Fire Department. In addition, magistrates will consider a Paint Lick/Cartersville Fire Department appointment.

Regional cooperation is also on the agenda with discussion of a Garrard/Lincoln/Rockcastle Interlocal Agreement.

County officials are also expected to consider changes to the Garrard County Administrative Code.

The meeting is scheduled to conclude with an executive session, during which the Fiscal Court may discuss matters permitted under Kentucky’s Open Meetings Act before returning to open session for any action, if necessary.

Residents are encouraged to attend and observe the proceedings or participate during the public comment portion of the meeting. The meeting provides an opportunity for citizens to stay informed on county finances, public safety, and administrative decisions affecting Garrard County.
