FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 26, 2020) – On Friday, the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack warned Kentuckians that air quality in the state may be poor this weekend and into next week. An enormous cloud of dry and dusty air that originated over the Sahara Desert will move across the southern United States over the next three to seven days.

Lancaster, KY (June 13, 2020) — The local health department confirmed three additional cases of COVID-19 on Saturday afternoon, before further investigation found that one of those reported cases was a resident of another county. This brings the total number of cases in Garrard County to 12 since the beginning of the pandemic. Of those 12, six have been reported to have made full recoveries.

Garrard County Surpasses Its 2010 Census Response Rate

May 21, 2020 – The latest 2020 Census response rates released show that Garrard County has already surpassed its 2010 Census response rate. 66.4 percent of Garrard County households have now responded to the 2020 Census versus 60.0 percent in 2010, making Garrard County one of 17 Kentucky counties that have surpassed its rate from the 2010 Census. Kentucky’s response rate is 63.5 percent, currently 13th in the nation.
