Exciting Weekend Ahead at Garrard County Rural Heritage Tobacco Festival
The Garrard County Rural Heritage Tobacco Festival is set to kick off with a fun-packed weekend of activities from Friday, September 6, through Saturday, September 7, 2024. This annual event offers a variety of attractions that celebrate local culture, community, and entertainment, providing a unique experience for attendees of all ages.
Friday's Events: September 6, 2024
On Friday, the festivities begin at noon and run through 10 p.m., offering a broad selection of activities. Vendors and food trucks will be open throughout the day, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious food and unique local crafts. For thrill-seekers, helicopter rides will be available, offering a bird's-eye view of the area from noon to 10 p.m.
From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the carnival will be in full swing, offering rides and games. Attendees can also be entertained by a magician from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and circus shows will take place at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., showcasing exciting performances.
For evening entertainment, wrestling is scheduled for 7 p.m., and a talent show will cap off the night, also beginning at 7 p.m.
Saturday's Events: September 7, 2024
Saturday promises another exciting day, starting with vendors and food trucks from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. The highly anticipated parade will take place at noon, with participants lining up as early as 10 a.m.
Wrestling returns at 2 p.m., along with hot air balloon rides from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m., festivalgoers can look forward to the Micah Tyler concert, with doors opening at 2 p.m. and the concert beginning at 3 p.m.
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy helicopter rides, carnival attractions, and magical performances. The circus shows will be held at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.
Live bands will entertain the crowd from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., starting with the "No Pressure Blues Band" from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., "Rock Candy" from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and wrapping up with "DLS" from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
To close out the night and the festival weekend, a fireworks display will light up the sky at 9:30 p.m., providing a spectacular finale to the event.
