Garrard County GEAR UP Hosts Family Paint Night with Local Artist Brandon Long
Garrard County GEAR UP hosted a family paint night on Friday evening, welcoming local artist and muralist, Brandon Long to lead the STEAM project. Participants worked on pointillism style painting, which focuses on how we perceive color. The event was a huge success, with students and their family members enjoying a fun-filled evening of art and creativity.
The project involved each participant completing a painting on two different canvases. Once finished, the canvases were placed together to create one cohesive picture. Each person picked their own seasonal color block, adding their personal touch to the painting.
The event was attended by a large number of families, who had a great time exploring their artistic side. They enjoyed painting with their family members and spending time with other members of the community.
The Garrard County GEAR UP program aims to prepare students for college and their future careers. The family paint night was just one of many events organized by the program to promote creativity and engagement among students and their families.
