Clean-Up Underway in Garrard County After Storm, Urges Patience

Garrard County Judge Executive, Chris Elleman, in a Facebook announcement said that he and road department workers were out to the early hours of the morning getting roadways passable.

Elleman urged residents to report any trees blocking the roadway to dispatch, assuring them that the team would move them as soon as possible.

"We know that there are huge trees and limbs on the side of the road bc either I or your magistrates was there helping to put it there," Elleman acknowledged the damage caused by the storm, calling for patience as the county had a lot of clean-up work ahead of them.

The Judge Executive thanked everyone who came out to help last night, saying, "I will speak on behalf of our magistrates out last night that we couldn't had done it without you."

Elleman also reminded residents to be cautious around the road department and utility crews out working to restore power. "Electric companies will be working to restore power, please understand that a lot of these power lines are down with a tree or debris on them and it's going to take a while."

Elleman's announcement comes after a storm left a lot of damage in the county. The electric companies are working to restore power, but the process may take some time due to the number of power lines that are down with debris on them. The county urges residents to stay informed and report any issues to the appropriate authorities.
