The Garrard County Public Library hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
• Children’s Story Time for Preschoolers. Join Ms. Tiffany for some fun stories, songs, and activities. Wednesdays at 10:00.
• Messy Munchkins. Dress for a mess and join us for multi-sensory play! Ideal for toddlers and preschool kids ages 0-5 accompanied by a caregiver. Tuesday, February 21, 5:00-6:00.
• Make a Valentine. Stop in the library anytime to make a Valentine Card for someone you love at our craft station in the children’s area.
• Teen Gaming. Have a good time playing games and hanging out. Invite friends and make some new ones. Monday, February 20, 3:30-4:45. Grades 6-12.
• Dungeons and Dragons. Whether you are new or a veteran at D&D, join us for a thrilling adventure. Feel free to bring your own character or we can help you design one. Wednesday, February 22, 3:30-5:00.
• Anime Club. Watch an anime and try some Japanese snacks. Meet other fans and invite friends or make new ones. Monday, February 13, 3:30-4:45. Grades 6-12.
• Blind Date with a Book for Teens. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Select a wrapped book on display and check it out.
• How to Make a Charcuterie Board. Come to the library to learn how to elevate your hosting. Learn how to make a Charcuterie Board and impress your guests at your next party. Thursday, February 9 at 5:00.
• Coffee & Cards. Decks of cards will be provided. You are also welcome to bring your own card games. February 14 and 28 at 1:00.
• Check ‘Em Out Book Club. Read and discuss a variety of books with other book lovers. This month’s selection is Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. Thursday, February 16 at 5:30.
• It’s a Hardback Life Romance Book Club for Adults. This new book club will meet to discuss how to choose books for future meetings. Wednesday, February 22 at 5:00.
• One-On-One Computer Help. Call today to schedule an appointment for one-on-one lessons on a variety of topics including Computer Basics, Creating and Using Email, and Using Microsoft Word to create a resume.
The GCPL has laptops available for checkout for a three-week period. Laptops come with a hotspot for internet access and a free flash drive the patron may keep. Patrons must be 18 or older and have an established account in good standing in order to check out a laptop. Call the library for more information.
• Faxing (toll free numbers are free, long distance numbers are $1 for the first page, $.50 for each additional page), notary services (free), copying and printing (ask library staff for cost) are available. Print jobs may also be emailed to garrardlibprint@gmail.com for pickup.
