Mcdonald’s Says “Thank You” With Teacher Tuesdays
Educators can use key tag to get a free drink every Tuesday
KENTUCKY- (Sept. 1, 2020) – As the new school year gets underway, McDonald’s wants to thank the hard-working teachers and education staff for their endless passion and commitment to our youth and communities.
Teacher Tuesdays will begin on September 1 at participating McDonald’s in Greater Louisville, Greater Lexington and Southern Indiana. Teachers and education staff can bring in their McDonald’s key tag and receive a complimentary, any size, free soft drink, tea or Premium Roast Coffee. Teacher Tuesdays will run every week through May 31, 2021. McDonald’s key tags were recently mailed to schools in the participating areas as a way for the 35 local McDonald’s owner/operators to show their appreciation for educators and their hard work.
Opportunity begins with education and McDonald’s continues to support education in a variety of ways. A job with McDonald’s offers employees the opportunity to learn transferrable soft skills on the job, such as teamwork, customer service and responsibility. McDonald’s also offers its Archways To Opportunity program, which offers employees a variety of services, including the ability to earn a high school diploma, English classes and the ability to earn up to $3,000 per year in college tuition assistance by simply working 15 hours per week. Locally, McDonald’s restaurant employees in Kentucky have received nearly $210,000 in college tuition through the Archways to Opportunity program.
