Kentucky Department of Agriculture And Kentucky Farm Bureau Provide COVID-19 Resource For Producers
One-Page Document Includes Best Practices During Global Pandemic
FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 3, 2020) — The Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) and the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation have teamed up to develop a one-page COVID-19 pandemic resource for Kentucky producers, Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles announced today.
“If you are online these days, you will see farm families sharing stories about the start of planting with #StillFarming,” said Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles. “Agriculture doesn’t stop for a global pandemic. With that in mind, the KDA has partnered with Kentucky Farm Bureau to provide producers with an easy-to-read one-pager with information on COVID-19.”
“Farmers are at the very beginning of the food chain, so it is imperative that we do our part,” said Mark Haney, president of Kentucky Farm Bureau. “Rest assured that the Kentucky will continue to safely produce food for this nation and others who need our help. “
The document includes information on when producers should stay at home, animal care, and links to additional resources. To view the document, see below or click here.
