The Louisville Zoo is inviting the public to help name one of its newest additions, a male Sumatran tiger cub born on July 23, 2024. Norton Children’s is presenting the opportunity to vote on the cub’s name, marking the first time a Sumatran tiger cub has been born at the Zoo in 20 years.

The Justices of the Supreme Court of Kentucky voted to elect Deputy Chief Justice Debra Hembree Lambert as the next Chief Justice of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Chief Justice-elect Lambert will serve a four-year term beginning Jan. 6, 2025.

Today, Sept. 20, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that Kentucky’s Chief Medical Examiner Dr. William Ralston and the state police crime lab have confirmed the unidentified body believed to be Joseph Couch has been positively identified through DNA extracted from bone.

Today, Sept. 19, an autopsy was conducted by the State Medical Examiner on the unidentified body believed to be Jospeh Couch, the suspect accused of shooting five people Sept. 7 on Interstate Highway 75 in Laurel County.

A Chemical Incident/Mishap Response and Assistance exercise is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 on the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond.
