Search Underway for Missing Garrard County Teen Last Seen Near Cartersville Road

Garrard County officials are searching for 16-year-old Yanixel Garcia, last seen on Saturday night in Lancaster.

Garrard County officials are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 16-year-old juvenile who was last seen Saturday night in Lancaster.

According to Garrard County Emergency Management, Yanixel Garcia was last seen at about 9 p.m. on April 18, 2026, in the 6000 block of Cartersville Road. Officials said she was wearing black cargo pants, a black T-shirt and a tan hoodie, and was not wearing shoes or socks at the time she disappeared.

Authorities said Garcia has no known medical conditions.

Garrard County Emergency Management, the Garrard County Sheriff’s Office and responders from multiple agencies carried out an extensive search of the area, but had not located the teen as of the latest public notice.

Officials believe Garcia may have been trying to get a ride to Lexington and said she could possibly be in that area. Search and rescue coordinator Dustin Price urged residents to remain alert and to share information that could help investigators bring her home safely.
