Rumpke Waste & Recycling to Resume Services in Central and Eastern Kentucky with Modified Schedule
Rumpke Waste & Recycling announced it will resume collection operations for most of central and eastern Kentucky on Tuesday, January 27, following recent weather disruptions. The company will begin servicing its Monday routes, with operations continuing on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week, provided that road conditions permit safe access.
According to the company, conditions in several counties remain too hazardous for service. Crews will not be operating in Magoffin, Knott, Leslie, and Perry counties due to ongoing safety concerns. Rumpke emphasized that it hopes to complete Monday routes on Tuesday, but if weather or road conditions hinder progress, affected customers can expect additional material to be collected on Monday, February 2.
“It’s our hope that we can complete our Monday routes; however, if road conditions prevent service, we will collect additional material on Monday, Feb. 2,” said Adam Rumpke, Region Vice President.
To accommodate the delays, Rumpke is implementing a revised service schedule for the week:
Monday customers will be serviced on Tuesday
Tuesday customers will be serviced on Wednesday
Wednesday customers will be serviced on Thursday
Thursday customers will be serviced on Friday
Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday
Customers are asked to place their materials at the curb the night before their adjusted collection day, even if they usually receive alley collection. Carts should be cleared of snow and positioned for easy access.
Most Rumpke facilities will also reopen on Tuesday, January 27. However, transfer stations in Magoffin, Knott, and Leslie counties will remain closed. The Montgomery County Landfill is scheduled to open at 8 a.m.
