Pavement Marking Work to Affect Garrard County Roads Through July 1
GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (June 30, 2025) — Drivers in Garrard County should prepare for intermittent traffic disruptions through Tuesday, July 1, as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet conducts thermoplastic pavement marking on major routes in the area.
On Monday, June 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., pavement marking crews are scheduled to work along U.S. 27, KY 52, and KY 34 within Garrard County. These operations are part of a broader effort involving nearby Jessamine and Mercer counties but are expected to significantly affect traffic flow on Garrard’s key roadways.
The marking work is designed to enhance road safety by improving lane visibility and durability. Thermoplastic pavement markings are known for their high reflectivity and long-lasting performance, particularly under adverse weather conditions.
Flaggers will manage traffic at work sites to maintain safety for both motorists and road crews. The Transportation Cabinet has urged drivers to remain alert, reduce speed in work zones, and follow all posted signage during the project period.
All scheduled work is tentative and may be adjusted depending on weather conditions or unforeseen emergencies. The Transportation Cabinet reminds residents that updates and traffic information are available through GoKY and Waze.
Garrard County is part of the Cabinet’s District 7, which encompasses a total of 12 counties in central Kentucky.
