The Garrard County High School boys soccer team continued their strong season with a narrow 2-1 victory over Somerset Christian School on Thursday night in an away game. The match, held on August 29, showcased the competitive spirit and resilience of the Garrard County team, pushing their season record to 5-1-1.

Garrard County secured the win with goals from Alexander Young and Jackson Kearney, each contributing crucial points to the team's overall score. Young and Kearney's efforts in front of the net were complemented by assists from James Seagraves, who played a pivotal role in setting up both goals.

Somerset Christian managed to find the back of the net once, but Garrard County’s defense, led by goalkeeper Jeffrey Skeens, held firm for the remainder of the match. Skeens recorded six saves, a testament to his solid performance, which limited Somerset Christian's scoring opportunities and ensured Garrard County's victory.

This victory adds to Garrard County's impressive season record, which now stands at 5 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. Over the course of 7 games, the team has scored a total of 29 goals while conceding only 12, showcasing their balanced approach to both offense and defense.
