Public Meeting Scheduled on Chemical Weapons Destruction: All You Need to Know
RICHMOND, Ky. – Aug. 21, 2023 – The Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission (CAC) and Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board (CDCAB) will host a public meeting on Sept. 6, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., at Eastern Kentucky University’s Carl D. Perkins Building in Richmond, Kentucky.
The meeting is convened to keep the community informed and receive feedback about the closure phase and processing of agent-contaminated secondary waste, following the completion of chemical weapons destruction operations at the Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD).
Co-chaired by Craig Williams and Doug Hindman, the CAC represents community and state interests to the U.S. Army and Department of Defense. The CDCAB, an independent subcommittee co-chaired by Madison County Judge-Executive Reagan Taylor and Craig Williams, consists of a diverse group of community leaders concerned with Kentucky’s chemical weapons destruction program.
The meeting is open to the public and will take place in Rooms A and B on the lobby level of the venue, which is located on Kit Carson Drive. Accessibility accommodations, including wheelchair access and alternate formats, are available.
