Inter-County Energy Reports Thousands Left Without Power as Storms Sweep Through
Inter-County Energy is reporting that of 9:30 pm, approximately 8,900 members are without power after a severe storm swept through the area. Utility companies are working to restore power, but warn that it may be a multi-day restoration event.
"We are making progress but we still have a long road ahead," said a spokesperson for the utility company. "We will continue to work until all power has been restored. We ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to assess damages while keeping safety as a top priority."

Members are advised to report outages to 1-866-224-2235 or use the company's mobile app to ensure that crews are aware of the affected areas. However, due to the high volume of calls, the company acknowledges that it has been difficult to get through on the phones at times.
"There is no specific time frame for power restoration," said the spokesperson. "Based on our early assessment and member reports of lines and poles down across our service territory, we expect this to be a multi-day restoration event."
Members are reminded to treat all downed power lines as if they are energized and to report them immediately. In addition, the utility company advises members to seek alternate shelter, especially if they require a medical device or have vulnerable members in their household.
The utility company will continue to provide updates as they work to restore power to all affected areas.
