Garrard Middle School Announces Baseball Open Practice Schedule Changes

Garrard Middle School has announced a change in the schedule for its Baseball Open Practices. Due to unforeseen field maintenance, the practice initially slated for an earlier date has now been postponed and will commence on November 2nd, 2023, at the GCHS Baseball Field from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

For students wishing to join these open practices, it is mandatory to have a current sports physical. Without a valid sports physical, students will not be permitted to participate. The school emphasizes this requirement to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

The open practices will take place every Tuesday and Thursday, offering students ample opportunities to hone their skills and integrate with the team. However, the school has highlighted specific dates when practices will not be held. These include November 7th, which is Election Day, and November 26th in observance of Thanksgiving.

As part of the practice requirements, attendees are advised to come prepared. They will need to wear either cleats or tennis shoes and bring along workout clothes. Additionally, they should have gloves and a bat if available. While most of the practice sessions will be held outdoors on the baseball field, there might be instances, especially during colder or rainy days, when the practice will shift to the weight room located beside the football field.

The school encourages all interested students from 5th to 8th grade to seize this opportunity. Whether they are seasoned players or beginners eager to learn, these open practices are designed to provide them with a comprehensive baseball experience.
