Garrard County Extension Office Announces Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest
The Garrard County Extension Office is gearing up for its annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. Participants are invited to showcase their skill and creativity in this festive event, which promises to be a highlight of the fall season.
Those interested in taking part can pick up their pumpkins from the Garrard County Extension Office on Monday, October 16th, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Contestants are reminded to return their carved creations to the same location by Monday, October 23rd, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
Judging for the contest is scheduled to take place at the office on Tuesday, October 24th. Winners will be announced later that afternoon. To make the event even more enticing, the first-place, second-place, and third-place winners will be chosen and their achievements shared on Facebook for all to see.
Furthermore, the Extension Office is offering a special treat for participants. Each household that takes part in the contest will receive a free fall goodie bag. However, there's a catch. The pumpkins and goodie bags are available on a first-come, first-served basis. So, participants are encouraged to come early and secure their spots.
Participants are kindly asked to provide their names when collecting their pumpkins and goodie bags. The Garrard County Extension Office expressed gratitude to everyone choosing to participate and is eagerly anticipating the array of carved masterpieces that will grace their office.
The contest is supported by the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Kentucky. Both institutions are looking forward to seeing the community come together in the spirit of fun and creativity.
For more details about the contest or any other queries, interested individuals are advised to reach out to the Garrard County Extension Office directly.
