All Of Garrard's 3 COVID-19 Patients Have Now Recovered
Lancaster, Ky (May 2, 2020) - The Garrard County Health Department has reported that each of the three Garrard County residents who previously tested positive for COVID-19 have now recovered.
According to a statement released by the Garrard Health Department on Thursday, each of the three patients are doing well.
“We wanted to let the community know that our 3 COVID-19 cases have all recovered and are doing well,” the Garrard County Health Department said in a statement on Thursday. “A heartfelt thanks goes out to them and all of the contacts linked to cases within and outside of Garrard County for their cooperation during this time.”
Garrard’s first case, a 63-year-old female, was announced on April 14. The second case, a male whose age has not been released, was confirmed on April 20. That case was transferred to Garrard after the patient was initially assigned to another county due to the ZIP code on their driver’s license. The third and most recent case was announced last weekend, on April 24, and had been originally reported to another county as well, but was transferred to staff at Garrard County Health Department last weekend.
The Garrard County Health Department asks that citizens remain vigilant in practices such as social distancing, hand washing, and that you report any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 to your primary care provider or to a local screening site such as Ephraim McDowell Health at (859) 936-8350.
