Upcoming Programs At The Garrard Public Library

The GCPL and the Garrard County Family Resource Center present Prime Time Family Reading Time.  Join us for an interactive reading program with your family. Parents and children will read and discuss books together, increasing reading skills and comprehension.   Enjoy a meal along with stories and discussion. One member of the family must be in elementary school. Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., August 15-September 19. Call or stop by the library to sign up.

Storytime for ages 18 months-5 years will resume August 21.  Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and (NEW) Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.

Teen Gaming for grades 6-12.  Video games, card games, board games, etc.  Have a snack and make some new friends. Wednesday, August 21, 3:30 p.m.

Nerd Night for Adults:  Flashback to the 90’s. Scrunchies, Fresh Prince, boy bands?  Celebrate what made the decade great with fun games, trivia, music and more!  Snacks provided. No kids, no teens. Just fun! Tuesday, August 27, 6:00 p.m.

One-on-One Computer Help.  45-minute sessions available for a variety of topics including basic computer skills, Internet searching, email, job searching, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, eReaders and other portable devices.   Contact Jessica at 859-792-3424. 

Mystery Book Club: Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. No registration is required; just pick up the book of the month and show up at the next meeting. Books are available at the library for check-out. The September selection is Death of a Dreamer by M.C. Beaton.

Page Turners Book Club meets Wednesday, August 28, 1:00 p.m.  Each month will offer a book from a variety of genres including historical, Kentucky-based, or general fiction.  Books are available at the library to check out. The August selection is A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles.   

Paint Lick Book Club will meet Tuesday, September 3, 7:00 p.m.  The September selection is A Gentleman is Moscow by Amor Towles.  Books are available at the Friends of Paint Lick.
