Rumpke Issues Christmas & New Year’s Collection Schedule
(Lancaster, Kentucky – December 20, 2019) – Rumpke trash collection will be delayed the weeks of Dec. 23, 2019 and Dec. 30, 2019 because of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Customers serviced on Mondays and Tuesdays will not be affected by Christmas and New Year’s Day. Customers with Wednesday collection will be serviced on Thursday both weeks. Thursday customers will be collected on Friday and Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday. Normal collection resumes the week of Jan. 6, 2020.
In addition to collection delays, Rumpke’s Garrard County transfer station will observe holiday hours. The site will close at noon on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
This time of year, Rumpke expects to see a 25 percent increase in the amount of waste placed at the curb because of holiday giving. Rumpke reminds customers that not everything belongs in the trash. Some items placed in trash containers, such as batteries, can be harmful to employees and the motoring public. Rumpke encourages customers to visit www.rumpke.com to review its curbside guidelines and recycling acceptable items list.
