(Garrard County, November 25, 2023) – A death investigation is currently underway following the discovery of a body on a local property in northern Garrard County, as confirmed by the Garrard County Sheriff's Department in a press release issued on Saturday evening.

The incident came to light just before 5 PM on November 25, when the Garrard County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the presence of a body found on a property located on Burdette Knob Road. The discovery was made by a property owner who was inspecting a remote area of their land.

Upon the report, authorities including the Garrard County Sheriff’s Office, Garrard County Coroner, Garrard County EMS and Bluegrass 911 responded to the scene.

The body was subsequently removed by Garrard County Coroner Shane Young and is set to be transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and to determine the cause of death.
