Homeless Coalition to Host Blessings Ceremony for New Shelter This Sunday
The Garrard County Homeless Coalition is making strides in its mission to provide support to those facing homelessness in the area.
This week, a mother of four reached out to the Coalition seeking shelter after being forced to move into a tent with her young children. Although the shelter is not yet fully operational, the Coalition is on the verge of opening its doors to offer temporary housing to individuals and families in need.
In response to the growing demand for assistance, the Coalition is organizing a Blessings Ceremony to take place at the new facility on Sunday, September 8th, at 1 PM. The event is designed to bring together the local community to offer prayers for the shelter, the people it will serve, and the volunteers who are working to make a difference.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their church members, friends, and family to the gathering, where they can participate in a tour of the shelter, fellowship with others, and learn more about the Coalition’s efforts to combat homelessness in the region. The ceremony also serves as an opportunity to reflect on the challenges faced by many communities, particularly families struggling to secure permanent housing.
As the Coalition prepares to open the shelter, their focus remains on providing compassionate and comprehensive support to those experiencing homelessness, with the ultimate goal of helping families like the mother of four to regain stability and secure long-term housing solutions.
The Garrard County Homeless Coalition continues to call on the community for support, stressing that homelessness is a shared issue that requires collective effort and understanding. All are welcome to join in the Blessings Ceremony as the Coalition moves closer to providing vital services to those in need.
