Another Fatal Collision At US 27 & Rogers Road Intersection In Garrard
The Garrard County Sheriff's Office was alerted by Bluegrass 911 at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 15th, 2024, regarding a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a truck on US 27 (Lexington Road) at the intersection of KY 1845 (Rogers Road) in Garrard County.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 27-year-old Ben Tipton of Nicholasville, was turning north onto US 27 from KY 1845 (Rogers Road) when he crossed into the path of a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle was operated by 62-year-old Gregory Maggard of Stanford, who was traveling south on Lexington Road.
The collision resulted in fatal injuries to Gregory Maggard, who was pronounced deceased by Boyle County Coroner Eric Guerrant at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
The ongoing investigation into the collision is being conducted by Sergeant Josh Gibson. He was assisted at the scene by personnel from the Garrard County Sheriff's Office, the Nicholasville Police Department, the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office, Garrard County EMS, Camp Dick Fire and Rescue, and Bluegrass 911 Communications.
