Post Offices in Kentucky Closed on October 14 for Columbus Day Observance
Post offices across Kentucky will be closed on Monday, October 14, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. As part of the nationwide observance, retail services at all post office locations will be unavailable, and there will be no regular mail delivery to street addresses or Post Office Box locations. However, Priority Mail Express services will still be provided.
Normal postal operations, including mail delivery and retail services, will resume on Tuesday, October 15.
For those in need of postal services during the closure, select post office locations will offer access to Self-Service Kiosks (SSK). These kiosks, which operate similarly to ATMs and accept debit and credit cards only, can perform around 80 percent of the tasks typically handled by retail clerks, such as purchasing stamps or shipping packages.
Customers can visit the USPS website at www.usps.com to locate SSKs or verify the hours of operation at their nearest post office.
