Emergency Workers On The Job

Local first responders and utility workers have been working tirelessly to answer over 700 calls for service in under 10 hours due to recent weather conditions yesterday. The amount of effort put into this work has been described as a "MASSIVE team effort" by officials at Bluegrass 911.

Bluegrass 911 covers four counties in the area, including Garrard.

Despite facing difficult weather conditions, police, fire, EMS, and emergency management teams across the county have not stopped working. While dispatchers have been working hard to manage the influx of calls, utility companies are also doing their best to prioritize emergencies.

Officials have urged residents to be patient as utility companies continue to work through the backlog of requests. In the meantime, they have asked people to check on their neighbors and stay weather aware.

In light of the situation, authorities are also requesting that people take a moment to thank first responders and utility workers if they see them out and about. While the hard work can be draining, the emergency services are committed to helping their communities in times of need.

It's during these times that communities come together and show their resilience, and the dedication of these emergency responders and utility workers is a testament to that.
