Garrard County Football Team Dominates Marion County in a 41-14 Win

The Garrard County High School football team secured an impressive victory over Marion County with a final score of 41-14 on Friday, October 13.

The team recorded 256 rushing yards, with Cameron Peak (Jersey 21) gaining 157 yards on just six attempts and scoring three touchdowns. Malachi Simmons (Jersey 6) also had a notable performance, adding 86 yards on 20 carries and one touchdown.

In the passing game, Justin Parsons (Jersey 3) completed 7 of 12 pass attempts, accumulating 84 net yards. Though the team didn't score any passing touchdowns, they managed to move the chains effectively throughout the game.

The defense also played a significant role, allowing only 245 rushing yards and an even more impressive 3 passing yards to Marion County. The team recorded 47 total tackles and forced three fumbles, and recovered five (two unforced). Trenton Ison (Jersey 23) led the team in tackles with 10, and also recorded the team's only tackle for loss. Hayden Elleman (Jersey 7) made a crucial interception, setting up the offense with a 13-yard return.

Special teams also played a pivotal role in the win. Zak Dailey (Jersey 33) was perfect in extra points, going 5 for 5, and also made two field goals, contributing to 11 total points.
