UK Football Player's Younger Sister Leads Bowling Green To State Quarterfinals

By Larry Vaught

Sophomore safety Vito Tisdale could become a big part of the UK defense this season, but last week his younger sister, Meadow, showed off her talent in the girls state basketball tournament for Bowling Green.

The sophomore forward had 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting, four rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals in 39 minutes in a double overtime win over Bishop Brossart.  In Bowling Green’s quarterfinal loss to Sacred Heart, she had 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting, six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steals.

She averages almost a double-double — 14 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

“She always exerts so much energy on the defensive end,” Bowling Green coach Calvin Head said. “She can really attack the basket, too. She just has a winning mindset.”

That mindset runs in her family and she says her older brother cuts her no slack.

“He is hard on me but he just wants me to be great,” Meadow Tisdale said.
