Six New COVID-19 Case Confirmations Announced Wednesday - Nine Current Active Cases

(Lancaster, KY - September 16, 2020) — The county’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic stood at 142 as of Wednesday afternoon, according to local officials. Six new cases were reported since the prior morning, following a week-long period in which only three cases were reported.

Of the 142 positive cases reported within Garrard as of Wednesday afternoon, 130 of them had already made full recoveries. Of the nine active cases within the county, two patient were reported as hospitalized. 

Three total patients have died within Garrard County due to the virus since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to Garrard County Judge Executive John Wilson, the six newly reported cases on Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon included a 30-year-old female, 41-year-old female, 48-year-old female, 49-year-old female and a 61-year-old male all reported to be isolated at home in okay condition. The new cases also included an 85-year-old male who is currently hospitalized.
