Baptist Health Lexington opens Clinical Decision Unit
(Lexington, Ky.) December 7, 2019 —Baptist Health Lexington opened its new Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) on Monday, Dec. 2 on the fifth floor of the South Tower at the Nicholasville Road campus.
There are currently 12 beds, with plans for all 29 beds to be open on January 6.
The unit serves patients that can be discharged within 72 hours. Often, patients at the Emergency Department need additional tests and observation. Now, instead of occupying beds in the Emergency Department while waiting for these services, patients can be cared for at the Clinical Decision Unit with the latest technology and amenities.
The CDU, with its proactive approach to health care, is part of Baptist Health’s ongoing effort to serve patients by offering the resources they need in a timely manner.
